What is the amount based on that I receive on the grocery card?
In 2024, parents/carers will receive €2.30 per child per school day (Monday to Friday).
This amount is based on information from NIBUD from 2023. NIBUD calculated how much a second bread meal costs for a boy aged 14-20 years.
Although there are different calculations for other ages, we have chosen to use one amount for all children participating in the School Meals Programme.
In 2025, this amount will remain the same.
